Often (in the remodeling end of our business) we run across instances in which our Client has purchased a home that they wish for us to remodel, only to find items incorrectly completed during previous remodels of the property. The home looks good at first glance, but when we dig further we find substandard repairs. The clients end up paying to properly repair the home, even beyond the remodel that they originally anticipated. Our experience tells us that any home available on the market that is more than ten years old will most likely have been remodeled, or will need to be remodeled/updated. If you purchase an older home, namely in areas in the center of town, it could have possibly been remodeled multiple times. Remodels, of which, may not have been completed by professionals, or within building code requirements for health and safety. It’s best when searching for real estate to work with a company that knows all aspects of the real estate industry.
